Steven Lynwood Baxter

Steven Lynwood Baxter, age 59, of Metairie, LA, passed away on March 18, 2024. He was born on August 8, 1964 in New Orleans, LA to his mother Arletta Riviere Baxter and the late Robert Baxter.

Steven is survived by his daughters, Jill Bankston (spouse Adam Bankston) and Sarah Baxter, along with his grandchildren, Alyssa Bankston, Emma Zelaya, Jayden Zelaya, Parker Bankston and Penelope Bankston. He is also survived by his sister, Stacey Finnegan (spouse Daniel Finnegan); brother, Sean Baxter; nieces, Courtney Finnegan, Grace Finnegan and Brittany Baxter.

Steven was known for his love of music, playing frisbee, watching LSU and Saints football games, enjoying crawfish boils, walking the parade route with his headphones during Mardi Gras season, going to the St. Patrick’s Day parades, and hosting Halloween parties.  

A private service will be held to honor and remember Steven Lynwood Baxter. May he rest in peace.
