Mary Devlin Murrell

Mary Devlin Murrell, age 61, transitioned to her eternal home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 18, 1962 in Vacaville, CA to the late Robert Devlin and Elizabeth Johnson Devlin. Mary enjoyed gardening and running 5k races. She loved taking care of kids. She was a Teacher's Assistant for Jefferson Parish Schools for over 25 years. Her passion for teaching children led her to create a YouTube Channel for kids, "Miss Mary's Stories, Songs and Crafts." She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her husband of 40 years, Richard Paul Murrell; 3 children, Renee Stewart and her husband Ethan, Bob Murrell and his wife Abbey, and Tim Murrell; 5 grandchildren, Zoe Thomas, Ethan Stewart, Jr., Kai Stewart, Margot Murrell, and Jack Murrell; sisters, Sue Devlin, Doris Hunt, and Elizabeth Devlin; her 5 Chihuahua fur babies, Buddy the Cat, and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Alice Devlin and John Devlin. Family and friends of Mary are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. As she dearly loved flowers, floral arrangements can be sent to the funeral home for display during Visitation and Memorial Service.
